Colour: straw-yellow with golden hues. Delightful sparkling with fine and persistent “perlage”.
Nose: complex, wide, austere, seductive toast, delicate with hazelnut aroma and fresh floral and mineral hints.
Palate: multifaceted, dry, fresh of citrus, it is both elegant and intense with vibrant structure and a long mineral aftertaste. Special affinity nose-palate.
Serving temperature: 7 – 9 ° C.
Cellaring: 4-6 years.
General Information:
Col dei Ronchi is the flagship Malgrà sparkling wines. This wine is produced with Cortese grapes (60%) and Pinot Noir growth in a very interesting vineyard of Malgrà estate. The fermentation process is made in new barrique for the two grapes and after blended and refined for 8-9 months in the same barrique. In a second time the wine is bottled and it starts a long and slow fermentation (24 months) with an exchange and a melange of yeast and residual sugars.
Difference is…
The wine-maker prefers fermentation process in a new barrique in order to enhance the complexity of the grapes coming from very special ground. The refining in oak and the very slow and long fermentation in bottle complete the character of this unusual wine. Amazingly complex and enjoyable!
