Winemaker’s Notes:
Colour: straw-yellow with typical greenish hues.
Nose: wide, fruity, delightful with special scent of almond and green apple. Interesting fresh cortese grape aroma.
Palate: multifaceted, dry, fresh, harmonic and pleasantly fruity. The dryness and the cool acidity make this Gavi an excellent wine for sea-food and shell-fish dishes, topped with fragrant extra virgin olive oil and fresh herbs warm, intense, smooth and satisfying with a pleasant and delicate taste of almond and green apple.
Serving temperature: 8 - 10 ° C.
Cellaring: 4 years.

General Information:
Poggio Basco is a vineyard located in Gavi town and for this reason produce a Gavi del Comune di Gavi docg. The vineyard, 400 m. above sea level, is located near to the Appennini mountains (Poggio means top). Looking south, it extends on 17 ha, is 18 years old, with 4500 plants per hectare and the cultivation is a Guyot traditional system. The land is mostly calcareous and, in lower proportion, clayey. The yield in the area of the vineyard dedicated to the Poggio Basco doesn’t exceed 80 q. of grape per hectare.
General Information…
The wine-maker prefers a temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation process, and no ageing at all in order to preserve the freshness and the fragrance of the Poggio Basco. In fact the highness of the vineyard with a great difference of temperature between the day and the night enhances the special flowered aroma. Wonderful amazing big white from Piemonte.
