General Information:

Cortese is the most popular and famous white grape variety in Piedmont, but the grapes coming out from the small Gavi area are something very special thanks to the soil, the microclimate and the sea-breeze which fans the region in Spring time. Every year Malgrà selects the Montebastia grapes in order to produce this wine which has the appellation of Gavi del Comune di Gavi. In fact the vineyard is located in Gavi town and for this reason takes this special appellation.

Difference is…

The wine-maker prefers a temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation process and no ageing at all in order to preserve the freshness and the fragrance of the grapes. The result is a very pleasant wine, delightful and elegant: special white with character.
