Malgrà is an idea of wine. Wine intended as a project, as a personal interpretation of the land free from bias and prejudice. Malgrà nurtures its vineyards in order to extract the wine that is jealously cherished deep down in the soil’s core. Sensitivity, experience, curiosity and humility are the basic values that inspired Nico Conta, Massimiliano Diotto, Ezio and Giorgio Chiarle in creating Malgrà and the “soil-wine” project. In spring 2005 Fausto and Massimo Bocciolone, owners of the historical Nervi Winery in Gattinara, signed a joint-venture with Malgrà which gave rise to Tenute & Case Vinicole Italiane a new, dynamic presence in the Italian wine market.

Malgrà is a nickname that the inhabitants of Mombaruzzo attribute to those who are perceived as half-dreamers, half-clairvoyants…. someone who lives by his own rules and that is sometimes seen as the village sorcerer.
